West Sabine ISD

A statement was made by west Sabine ISD Superintendent Jane B. Stephenson after a car accident yesterday claimed the life of a student. The release is as follows, “The community of Pineland/West Sabine ISD has suffered a tremendous loss due to a car accident on Hwy 184 yesterday afternoon. We are deeply saddened that Easton Horn, a West Sabine High School student has passed away. Easton's mother was also killed in the accident. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family. Additionally another West Sabine student was injured in the accident along with a child from a neighboring district. Our prayers go out to each of these families as they deal with loss and healing from injuries.

Our entire school district is saddened by this event. It is very difficult to experience the death of a young person. The West Sabine High School campus will be open on Monday for students to drop by and speak to a counselor as needed. The well being of our students will remain a top priority as we deal with the emotions surrounding this tragedy.”
