Sam Rayburn

Sabine County, Texas-

First responders from Pineland Volunteer Fire Department were called to assist a boater who swam to shore near FM 414 in Brookeland at approximately 4:30 this morning. The report indicated that a boat carrying two passengers had capsized. Law enforcement was notified that another occupant was still in the water hanging on the the disabled boat. Rescuers launched a search from the Mill Creek area of Lake Sam Rayburn to search for the man.

Update 6:39 a.m., the second occupant has been rescued and is out of the water. No injuries are being reported. More information will be added once the report is completed by law enforcement. The flat-bottom boat remains half sunk in the water and will be recovered later today.
