Public Notice

The City of Hemphill will conduct a Public Hearing on the proposed budget for the City of Hemphill for the fiscal year July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021, on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 5:00 P.M.  The proposed budget will be made available for scrutiny and questions.

The Hemphill City Council will then consider the proposed budget for approval on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Council.

Any taxpayer or citizen of the City of Hemphill has the privilege of examining the proposed budget and making written or oral comments as to the proposed use of public funds. In order to comply with the Governor’s Order for Social Distancing and Suspension of the Open Meetings Act, four members of the public will be admitted into the council chambers at a time to review the budget, ask questions and make comments.  

Please see the City’s Notice of Possible Quorum on our website at www.cityofhemphill.com for instructions on how to participate and make comments by teleconference or video-conference.  Copies of the Proposed Budget may be picked up between 8 am and 4 pm on June 2, 2020, and copies will also be available at this hearing.  

The hearing will be held at the Hemphill City Hall Council Chambers located at 211 Starr St., Hemphill, TX.
