Summer Meeting Set

The Sabine County Landowners and Leaseholders Association summer meeting has been set for Tuesday, June 11th at the Courthouse in Hemphill. The start time will be 6:00pm in the third floor District Courtroom. Everyone needs to make plans to attend this summer’s countywide meeting because it will include the following.

2018 Deer Season summary: Randall Kroll, TPWD Biologist for our region of East Texas Will be our Keynote speaker.

Randall will be covering a lot of summarized information about the 2018 deer season here in the pineywoods.  He will also cover any “late breaking” information on topics like upcoming law or management changes by TPWD and how the spring fawn crop looks. Some of the items that Randall will cover include:

• Total buck/doe harvest and how that compares with past seasons.

• Age structure of bucks harvested and how that varied by county

• Deer density by acre in the region and locally

• 2018 CWD update

• TPWD Austin: new trends and directions for deer management

• MLDP program update

Door prizes: We will be giving away a number of door prizes again at our summer meeting.  A free raffle ticket will be given to everyone attending the meeting so members and nonmembers all have a chance to win.

Pay your dues: All membership dues are about to expire and it is time to renew your membership in order to show your continued support for SCLLA. If you are a member that has joined since January 1, 2019, you are good on your dues until the summer of 2020.
