Sabine County is documenting two active COVID-19 cases

Sabine County is documenting two known active cases of COVID-19 as of yesterday afternoon. The total number of positive cases since the pandemic began reported in Sabine County is 77. Of the the 77 total cases 67 individuals are reported as recovered, along with eight deaths. The numbers are reported to Sabine County Judge Daryl Melton by Jasper Newton Health District.

"With the added number of people who graciously came to the aid of our county during Hurricane Laura, Covid was forgot about. Over the next couple of weeks we ask everyone to please monitor temperatures and watch for any symptoms." 

Judge Melton stated during Monday's meeting of Commissioners Court that an uptick in the virus has not been noted in Sabine County.
