Sabine County residents have been requested to self report damage caused by Hurricane Laura. If you have not done so a link will be added to the end of this presentation. According to Sabine County Emergency Management David Roach these are the numbers reported as of September 10. 64 structures were reported as destroyed, 121 structures were reported to have major damage, 96 minor damage, 82 were reported as effected, 152 were reported as having light impact. So far 515 residents have completed the survey.
There is still time to report all damage, there numbers in the survey will determine whether or not federal assistance will become available in the future.
Sabine and several other East Texas counties were added to the disaster declaration by Gov. Abbott on August 25.
