Sabine County, Texas-(Oct. 7, 2021)

SABINE COUNTY – Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigated a one vehicle crash on October 7, 2021, on Farm-to-Market Road 1, about four miles north of Bronson.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 10:40 p.m., a 2021 Bronco SUV was traveling north at an unsafe speed when the vehicle drove off the roadway to the left where it struck a tree and then overturned.

The driver is identified as Michaela Brown, 23, from Bronson was pronounced deceased at the scene by a San Augustine County Justice of the Peace.

This crash remains under investigation. Additional information is not available at this time.

Previous report- 

The Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal one vehicle accident near Rosevine last night. Emergency personnel from Pineland Volunteer Fire Department, Bronson Volunteer Fire Department, Sabine County EMS, and Sabine County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the report of a roll over accident on FM 1, approximately 1/2 mile from Highway 21. 

The call for assistance went out at 10:42 p.m. on Thursday, Oct.7. The vehicle was in the ditch overturned. 

First Responders arrived to find the motorist still inside the  vehicle. After rescue efforts were made, the Justice of the Peace was called. 

The name of the driver has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The cause of the accident is still being investigate. As soon as the preliminary investigation is released information will be updated.
