4-H Shooting Sports Coaches Needed

The Sabine County 4-H Club is looking to add Rifle training (and possibly Shotgun, Pistol and Muzzleloaders) in October.

A 4-H Coach's training will be held at Hawkeye Hunting Club near Center on Saturday, September 19, 2020, but we'll need to complete 4-H Volunteer registration and background checks prior to September 11, to get you signed up.

If you have an interest in working with kids on a monthly (or even more regularly) basis in shooting sports, please contact Ronald Barlow at 409-594-7400.

John Strickland (Sabine National Armory), Jason Collins (4-H Archery Coach) and myself are planning to attend to get the 4-H Rifle certification, but would like to have even more folks working with us.

Plans are being discussed to construct a shooting range behind the rodeo arena at Hemphill. Another range is located at Bear Creek Recreation Area, west of Pineland.

Kids aged 9-18 will be participating.
